go to:

comcast in your area?

type in my zip code of 91403

essentially you get this:

what the hell type of faggot response is that?

the best/worst part is that they link you to a real estate website right below that message. god, a simple "we don't have comcast" in that area would have been fine.

Subject:happy tax day
Security:Public

i read an article in the times today saying how people are going out of there way to buy items or just simply not buying a lot of things because of the sales tax increase. that's why i didn't like the idea of raising sales tax as it forces people to spend less and when people spend less, there is less income from the tax. but hey, what do i know.

i dunno about prop 1a either. i'm on the fence on it. i like that it attempts to control spending but from what i heard from a lot of convservatives that it has so many holes and is pointless. especially since it increases taxes for an additional two years.

i also heard that prop 1b, the increasing of funds to public schools, would get a large portion of it's funding from prop 1a. essentially what prop 1b is that since we've cut funding to public school, prop 1b will force us to spend more on schools by 2011.

i don't really understand what's the point of a spending cap/rainy day fund if you go ahead and spend it on a budget that you have cut.

remember back in the day when you played grand theft auto and you racked up stars on the wanted bar? i kind of feel like that's the shit mexico is in right now. for the longest time, it used to be one star on all times. crooks would just bribe cops and that would be it. now, you have a new president that decides to end all of this (which is probably for the better) and now it's at two stars. a whole slew of anti-corruption measures goes in the system. one such system is that now cops ride w/ a partner as they are least likely to look the other way w/ a partner (unless both were corrupt which wouldn't be surprising).

the drug cartel and start killing off police officers. so three stars occur and they have the swat like police now involved. well cops are still getting killed and it seems corruption goes as high as police chiefs and mayors. so the federal police is called into action. entire towns become killing fields.

now, 5 stars later, the military is called in. sure there have been attempts to bribe the military so this will be interesting to see how this lasts. as in gta, if you had the military on you, it was pretty much game over unless you were playing with cheats.

Subject:government has failed

so the budget passed with huge tax increases.

fucking disgusting.

the republicans just got bent over in the negotiations. state workers aren't getting laid off even tho most companies in the private sector are laying off workers. state workers furloughs are going away so they're still getting 14 paid holiday vacations on top of their normal vacation. on top of that, i don't think any of the gross amount of overtime fraud going into the state workers were fixed at all. for example, most state workers work 4 days a week. so lets say jack works m-th. but then decides he wants t-fri for a week. well that week he works that friday is pure overtime cause the system thinks he's working on monday still. and so workers were doing this constantly and essentially raping the tax payers in term of overtime. some stories were released how workers were making double their salary via overtime cause of the fucked up system.

the republicans couldn't even stop a fucking million dollars being spent for furniture for the controller's office. A MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS FOR ONE FUCKING OFFICE. really? do we need antique furniture for a office? this is the gross spending which got us here in the first place and its' not even stopping. makes me fucking sick.

the republicans couldn't even get their fucking spending cap or rainy day fund. it'll be voted on in 2010 and democrats are already saying they'll not vote for it. and of course come 2010 the ads w/ roll w/ the fucking children, fire dept, police dept, etc saying how they need more money and a spending cap is stupid and it'll not pass.

long story short:
democrats pass the budget w/ massive tax increases and look like heroes.
republicans pass the budget w/ massive taxes and look like morons for delaying this whole process for months. on top of that, they really didn't get any of their key budget reforms in which were the rainy day fund or the spending cap.

bottom line, we lose and we'll just have to bend over w/ one of the biggest tax increase in history. oh and by the way, a lot of the spending cuts are going to be re-imbursed by the stimulus packing that california is receiving. i think california is getting around 14 billion from the federal government.

Subject:people that need to die list
Security:Public

it's pretty rare that i add someone to list. and lets face it, it's pretty god damn harsh thing to say. however, there are some people who frankly...just need to die. they sole purpose in life is to drain society and the world as a whole would be better off dead without them.

the person who just joined this list is...

octo-mom!

lets get some things straight before i start.
i don't give a shit that she's a single mom. i'm sure 20% of californians are raised by a single parent.
i don't care that she was artificially impregnated.
i don't care that she had 8 children

what i do care about is that she has 14 children, has no source of income, lives with her parents, is in debt, and is already receiving benefits from the government. that's my gripe

she's a fucking leach. a burden of society that we all now have to take care of. you, me, everyone. and it's fucking bullshit. she needs to be put down so that she can never breed again. i heard somewhere that her medical bills are already at 1.3 million and it's already been billed to medical, aka the tax payers. octo-mom will never be a productive member in society. what do you do with a mosquito sucking your blood? you swat at it. i see mary sullivan in the same light. in fact, calling octo-mom a mosquito is a fucking insult to the mosquito. at least the mosquito is sucking blood for nurishment.

i know that in her interview she mentioned she would not ask for aid in rearing her children yet a couple days after her interview, she has a fucking donation website up asking for money/items. and again in her interview she states that people are only criticizing her for being a single mom or being artificially impregnated. god, what a fucking whore.

good news is that i'm not the only one who hates her, there are a ton of people who hate as well. i really do hope that every single day she steps out of her house, she gets spat on. hopefully by then, she'll know what a disgrace she is. what's funny is that everyone was so happy for her when she first had the babies. then people started digging around and found all this shit and it made people really sick.

oh and just for reference:
- she is getting aid for being disabled due to a work injury from either 2000 or 01.
- 3 of her 6 OG children are on the federal disability list so she gets money for them as well.
- she gets food stamps.
- chances are, some of the 8 children will also be retarded. and by chances, i mean a very high chance that they will have some sort of disability.

guess what californians, we will be paying for this atrocity for a very long time.
-

Subject:am i crazy?
Security:Public

am i crazy for thinking that retaining customers is an important business motto to have? apparently so as at&t pretty much gave me a big FU.

story time kiddies

so i have a car w/ blue tooth. my phone doesn't support blue tooth. my phone currently is very old and needs to be recharged daily. it's beat up and it's showing it's age. so i go phone shopping. simple enough right?

well i'm looking up phones and what do i see? an LG Vue for 20 bucks? phone comes highly recommended by my co-worker. so i click on the link thinking i could get a nice phone for 20 bucks. then i notice that the $20 offer is for brand new customers only. existing customers have to spend $100. so that makes absolutely no sense to me and i look up other phones which have similar situations where it is cheaper to buy a new phone as an existing customer then a current customer.

so i call the sales line and i speak with some fucking idiot who had the strongest indian accent. he couldn't give me the same deal as a new customer or give me a reason as to why it was set up like that. so eventually tell him to transfer me to a manager and learn to speak english (is what i should have told him).

manager was essentially i get these calls all the time. we understand you concern but hey, i can't do anything for you. these are the sales we have, if you don't like, don't buy it. pretty rude eh? so we go back and forth a bit and he told that i can either buy the phone at a current customer price or cancel my at&t account, set up a new one, and buy it at the sale price. i told him that is one of the stupidest things i have ever heard of. he then told me to call their customer retention line to see what they could do for me.

so this was during my lunch break mind. i didn't have time to make another phone call so i get off work and look up the phone number to cancel my account. i call them and i get rep whose whole purpose is to prevent you from quitting. i told him that i need to speak with a manager but he said he wanted to see if he could resolve my issue first.

i gave him a chance. told him my story. end result? i can a similar phone for 50. i was blunt w/ him and told him that is a slap in my face. he then started telling me that phones are not cheap and that he was already giving me the phone for a such a discounted price. he told me that the phone costs 650 to make and that he was already discounting 600 dollars off of the phone. i dunno anything about phone but i think he was full of shit. we go back and forth as to why i think i should get the phone for a much higher discounted rate. and he doesn't budge.

so i tell him it sounds like you make your money off of the service, not the phones. i tell him that i've my current phone for 4-5 years. that i've had phone prior to that one for 3-4 years. i tell him that i don't exchange phones ever unless they break. and that i must be a good business investment because if his company is losing money on the phones and making money on the plans that i must be gold mine cause i never change my phone. he didn't have an answer. i then go into detail how other companies treat their returning customers with a lot of respect.

an example i told him is that i had to once call AAA when i was with joe. as soon as i entered my account info, i got a "thank you mr. white. oh i see here that you've been w/ us for 9 years. we appreciate your continued business w/ us."

while kissing my ass typically doesn't make me buy/stay w/ a product, it does show me that they do strive for my continued business. i told the guy that throughout my calls to at&t, not once did a rep ever thank me or even mention my continued business to me. i mentioned that to him and i was blunt in saying that it appears at&t doesn't care for customer retention.

eventually he asked me what i wanted from at&t/him. i told him it isn't what i want to do, it's what can at&t do to keep me as a customer. he told me the same phone is for 50. my response is that the 50 price is what all at&t customers pay for renewing their contract. that's not going out of their way to retain me, that's their listed price (i think $100 price tag is for a 1 yr contract instead of 2).

he then stated that was it. he would have to transfer me to a manager. 5 minutes on hold, he comes back on the phone and tells me a manager won't speak with me about any offers. i told him it's clear, you guys don't want me as a customer and requested to have my phone canceled. too bad the office was closed and i would have to call during normal business hours.

am i crazy for thinking that retaining customers should have equal if not better treatment then new customers? oh and here's my argument:

1. newer customers tend to change companies more often then older customers.
2. you don't know what you're getting w/ a new customer. w/ me, you have a long track period of bills paid on-time.
3. less issues w/ older customers w/ only call in if they have issues w/ their service. no calls? means they're satisfied and w/ keep renewing w/ you.

but hey, what do i know? i'm not making 10/hr answering complaint calls for a phone company.

so they passed the budget and now it's up to arnold to sign it in. arnold said he wouldn't sign it but we'll see. a lot of large tax increases...

Sen. Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) retorted: "Merry Christmas, Californians: We're going to save the economy of this state, we're going to jump-start the economy. . . . And guess what? Your school district won't be shut down."

"We are indeed providing a holiday gift to Californians, in a very reasonable, legal, moderate fashion," Leno said.

fuck you...fuck you! what a fucking arrogant statement. first of all, it isn't reasonable. second of all, it isn't legal when you pass a "tax" but call it a "fee" instead and pass it w/out a majority. fuck you, you shithead.

i don't even understand how that's going to jump-start the economy either. how? income tax increase means people w/ make less money. an increase in gas tax means it'll cost more for people to do their daily routines. and a sales tax increase w/ make items more expensive to buy. why would people spend more in this situation and boost the economy?

remember when we got that $600 check from uncle sam? the stimulus check? the stimulus check?!? that money was given to us so we can spend and help stimulate the declining economy. what is going on here is like the fucking opposite but they still hope it'll increase consumer confidence and spending. am i fucking crazy?

you know what else is fucked up? good samaritans can now be sued for helping someone out if it isn't medical related. essentially, if you're giving cpr to someone, they can't sue you. however, if you see someone drowning and you try to pull them out of the water, they can sue for it. or if you see someone in a burning car and you pull them out of the car, they can also sue you for that too. ??? i help someone...and they can sue me for helping them? what type of fucking world do we live in now?

this all came about in when two cars filled w/ co-workers were heading home. the first car hit a pole going 35 mph. the co-workers in the other car got out and tried to help the people in the first car. one of the people in the first car broke her back either in the accident or in the process of being pulled out of the car and she turned around and sued her co-workers who saved her life. the lawyer hasn't stated the amount he is going to press for but he stated that he is suing for a lifetime of care, missing work, etc etc. so pretty much their entire life's saving and then some.

pretty fucked up if you ask me

and in non-news related news. my uncle passed away a couple days ago :(

Subject:what the fuck
Security:Public

i just heard of this recently:

Reporting from Sacramento -- Unable to find common ground with Republicans, California's Democratic leaders today announced they would unilaterally pass legislation to raise gas, sales and income taxes through a series of legal maneuvers aimed at easing the state's fiscal crisis.

The Democratic gambit to raise $9.3 billion, scheduled to be voted on tonight, would increase sales taxes by three-fourths of a cent and gas taxes by 13.5 cents a gallon. The plan would also add a surcharge of 2.5% to everyone's state income tax bill.

essentially they're going to raise taxes by not calling them taxes but calling them fees thus eliminating the need for the 2/3 majority vote. i dun understand the whole "bipartisan" working together bullshit and then moving forward w/ huge sweeping tax increases by side stepping around the republicans. well the vote is tonight...we'll see how that goes.

if it passes, it's gonna be shot down in court but that could takes months to years to resolve so hopefully this shit won't pass.

so i need a new car. the car accident i was involved took it's toll on my baby and i need a new car by this weekend. i'm only buying used cars at this time as i have no interests in buying a new car for almost 10-15k more.

cars i'm looking forward into:

acura tl type s. an entry level luxury sports sedan. great performance. sadly, it might be out of my means and gas mileage sucks a big one. probably one of the best looking cars for my price range though.

volvo c70. hard top ct. very nice car. a little on the heavy side. downside is, volvos tend to have a lot of mechanical problems. their parts are also a bitch to get. and we don't know what the future of volvo is since they are owned by ford.

honda accord. best resale value. spacious and a good car over all. cons...a shit ton of people have 'em.

i have no real interests in bmw's or mercedes. lexus are ok but i don't really like the design of 'em. g35 and audi a4's are on my map too. i guess it depends on how well i negotiate. fuck...this weekend is either going to be really good or really shitty.

so i got up at the crack of dawn to get it. they sold out w/in 5 minutes so i didn't get one. atlas, i had my mom pick me one up in lancaster where they had thousands of ps3 on the side. i was a little worried because my mom kept referring it to a nintendo but i told her the exact price and the $100 gift card and that seemed to work.

so what games do i get for it? fallout 3 looks good. resistance 2 just came out...any good? i don't really care about multiplayer cause i don't really have time for it at this time. i'm gonna pick up rockband 2 eventually but i dunno if i want to get it right now.

i was looking at some bluray movies...nothing really i wanted. well it's only like a month till dark knight comes out :D

so instead, i bought the bourne trilogy for $30 on regular dvd style.

i dunno if many people heard about this because there has been so much distractions w/ the election and the prop 8 riots but here we go:

the governator today pretty much threw down the gauntlet.
- 1.5 sales tax increase (a big wtf)
- sales tax now to include services (we currently pay no taxes for these services like Dr. visits, lawyer usage, tax services, entertainment stuffs like golfing, concerts, sporting event tickets etc.)
- .5 drinking tax which charges a nickel everytime you buy a beer or a shot.
- increased car tax.

i think that's most of them. the sales tax really hurts. hurts right in the fucking balls. the projected sales tax would be at 10.25%. that's 10.25%.

that's a 25% increase in sales tax. again, a 25% increase in the current sales tax. you w/ notice this tax increase

something else that is going to hurt is that the sales tax is expanding to include services. so you better pray to god you have good health/auto insurance. doctor visits are what? 250-500? give or take? that's going to be taxed at 10.25%. need a MRI? they're around what...2k or so? rounded down, that's an extra 200 that you need to pay for taxes.

i have a mercedes sl 55 amg at a shop right. a very small fender bender...i wrote them a 15k sheet. they wanted 25k for repairs but i negotiated them down quite a bit. that's only a fender bender. taxes on that one? you better be sure to have good auto insurance or you're just going to get reemed big time. i can go on and on w/ examples.

the booze tax is whatever. i don't think it'll be that big and i'm a huge drinker. i bet you bars/clubs w/ just charge an extra dollar or two per drink and blame the tax.

car tax, i'm not surprised. it was going to happen sooner or later. sac town was trying triple it for awhile back but i'm glad that got shot down. lets see nice cars cost about 1-2k in car taxes per year. shitty cars are about a 100 give or take. as long as it doesn't get tripled, i don't think i'll have that much of an issue. nationwide tho, car taxes are so much lower. most states it's rare to have people pay triple digits for car tax.

this sucks. this really fucking sucks.

expect to have huge increases in premiums in a dying industry of insurance because of these taxes.

sad thing is, is that no one really knows about this because the news have been swamped with so much other things that have been going on.
